I think scarves can empower women because when we have our scarf on, we gain respect from the guys, we're treated differently & the guys lower their gaze, compared to girls without the scarf on. so we are special & empowered, though in some countries it's not accepted, & they're against it, we're cool that way, & they can't resist the coolness! *wink
Scarfs can empower women because when a person looks at them, they don't just see beauty and what's on the surface. A scarf says to the world, "I respect myself and I would appreciate it if you would too". It empowers a woman by letting both men and women in society know that they should be taken seriously and they have committed to wearing hijab. She doesn't want to get hit on or looked at pervertedly and will not tolerate any form of abuse from anyone. A scarf can also empower a woman by making a fashion statement. It's bold, but also modest at the same time. The scarf can be worn in many ways and shows that the woman who's wearing it is versatile and unique in her own way. She works with what she's got.

I think scarf empower women for the fact that it covers the outer beauty there for leaving people to judge by your inner beauty. Also it gives the feel that a woman is strong and brave for the fact that she doesn't mind covering her hair and body while walking around women who don't. I myself feel stronger and more confident because i wear hijab and i love the fact that i feel my beauty inside and my outer beauty is for my husband and no other men :)

scarf is not only covering but also protecting us from 'bad' stare, increasing confident, and making us different plus more special than who not wearing scarf. scarf also can bring out inner beauty, so people not only look at outer beauty. ;)

Scarf can empower women because scarf not only acted as an accessories to women. It will differentiate Muslim women from other women out there. Scarf not only covering their aurat, but it will build their inner beauty by following the requirement of Islam. Wearing the scarf by covering their hair, keeping it for the future, for the one who are legally entitled to see them which is our husband. Who said women with scarf can't be fashionable. By wearing a scarf it rocks us more. Besides, we can always follow the latest fashion but as long as we keep ourself at a safe distance from the things that will lead us open our hijab. Wearing a scarf not only will raise the status and dignity of women, it also help a women to be respected by man. Even me, myself, would like to look pretty, attractive and have the confidence despite of wearing the hijab/scarf.
scarf can empower because it's our protection, Allah knows the best for us. scarf also statement that we are women that follow our religion rules and not afraid of what people think about head covering. woman with scarf can do anything without being afraid of what people think because it close women outer beauty so people will judge by what we do. me my self feel better since i wear hijab for daily activity.

I think scarves empower women in a unique way because they are an accessory, but also an integral part of an outfit. Any kind of clothing can be made more modest by the addition of a scarf, but it can also be made more colorful, artistic, trendy, and express the personality of the wearer in a way that no other single piece of clothing can. It doesn't belong to any one culture or style of dress, just as Islam doesn't belong to any one group of people. It has a universal appeal that speaks to the style of women from everywhere in the world.

Scarf can empower because it simbolizes a Muslim ladies and also it shows that you have your own perspective of who you are. Plus, with scarfs, you could just wrap it up to cover your head and style it wherever and whenever you want it to. It makes you feel confident and more expose to the world without hesitations as you are proud of yourself, with scarf, you can show to other people how fashionable you are, how pretty you are inside out and how you inspired others in covering the 'aurat'..insya-Allah!

Scarves can empower women because of the message they carry. They give women a sense of respect and dignity from not just men, but other women as well because it shows that women who wear scarves respect and care about their body. They also appreciate everything that Allah (swt) has blessed them with (including their beauty)! It also gives women a confidence boost because it helps you learn who you are and it helps you remember what your morals are, where you came from, and where you are eventually going to go and meet your Lord, inshAllah. You can to see a woman for who she is when she wears a hijab, no matter which way she wears it. Plus, the headscarf isn't just a thing shown physically outside to the world, but there's also a spiritual hijab that develops inside of you.

Scarves can empower women because, they give us respect and modesty. We're showing others that we should be given respect just like others. Covering ourselves has nothing to do with oppression! It's our choice to cover. Wearing a headscarf also makes us think about our deen and what is inside our hearts. Its not just about wearing a headcovering, its also about our attitude and how we carry ourselves. Wearing a headscarf keeps us from the lusts and desires of others. :)
I can't/don't have a facebook or twitter account, so I didn't do any of those things. I e-mailed you gals about it. I hope I still can be counted in. :)

Scarves can empower women because they liberate the hijabi from male-dominated fashions which force us to expose our skin for their pleasure. They are a huge f*** you to female objectification by males.
